Don’t Talk and Drive in California

Today marks the first day of the new cell phone law in California. It is illegal to talk on a cell phone without the use of a hands-free device from here on out.

Here in Orange and Los Angeles counties there is no grace period and I even saw someone get ticketed live this morning on the news, so beware! I’ve heard that San Diego is not going to enforce the law during the month of July to help ease people into it, but I can’t say for sure.

What’s next you ask? Texting has to be on everyone’s minds now since it seems far more dangerous to text than talk with behind the wheel…

1. It's about time that something is being done to deter those that can't drive for ***t let alone try to talk at the same time. More states need to follow in Ca.'s lead. Incidently, I don't have a cell phone and have no desire to own one either. I feel sorry for the stupid S.O.B. that crashes into my Classic Truck while on a cell phone. It's just really not gonna be fair to my kids, when I'm in prison for doing serious bodily harm to the idiot, for being more into their phone than paying attention to his driving responsibilities.

2. Washington state just passed the same law. Officers can pull you over and ticket you just for being on your cell phone without some kind of hands free device. They used to need another reason to pull you over. You cannot text while driving either. I'm thankful for this as I have spent enough time driving behind people that were on their phones and they lose focus on their driving. I have almost been hit a few times while driving because these people were not paying attention! Anybody know of any other states that have passed this same law?

3. Connecticut has had this law for a few years October of 05' to be exact and was one of the first states to pass it although it helps there are way to many idiots out there who still Blah Blah Blah while driving and its has and will continue to injure or kill people because of lack of responsibility. My favorite is the (Unnamed Lady) who is talking on the phone, drinking her morning coffee and at stop lights applying her makeup all while driving to work! I see her a few times a week doing this and yes I am waiting for her to wreck! It’s a good thing the states are adopting this law or a law like it all we need now is for the police to be able to enforce it. Midknight70

4. When the police start enforcing the cell-phone law, there needs to be a number you can call to report on the cops using cell-phones also. You'd be surprised to know how many of them ******** use them for non-work related use. What they enforce, they should also be kept in check for. That's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it.
